Sorry, everyone. I don't really check dA as religiously as I used to. There's little holding me here that I don't already have on tumblr. I figure I'll still keep around, probably drop my watchlist down to close friends and such, and continue uploading, but there's just not much of a community here like when I first joined.
And I really sucked at art back then, so I figured things would get better as time went on and I'd have more and more friends to keep me here, but that's not the case. Everyone I know is on tumblr. Now, instead of dA being the first thing I click when I go online, it's the last. It's been replaced by tumblr, which has a community I can actually get behind. Like, there are constantly people who put up missing person notices and everyone helps out- or something really shitty happens and someone needs money and all sorts of people offer things to anyone who donates.
It's a different atmosphere than here. It's not perfect, but it's better.
I'm sad to 'go', because a lot of stuff has happened to me here. I met my first love here, I've been internet-stalked here, I've found a WEALTH of knowledge whenever I needed help with art... but it's behind me now.
If anyone knows me, they know I'm resistant to change. CRAZY resistant. I was recently in tears over the idea of taking my OCs and pressing the restart button on them, and they're not even real. So don't anyone think this is easy for me, 'cause it's not. But it's not something I can avoid either, so here I am.
I don't think I've been this open in a journal here since I joined, oddly enough.
If anyone wants to follow me to tumblr, I welcome you. My link is down below, where my website would be if I had one. And hey, maybe one day I'll be back. Maybe one day, there won't be any sexist policing of what constitutes an artistic nude and there won't be any infighting among fandoms and dA's staff will get off their asses (allowing us to change our usernames is FINALLY a good start) and this place will shine again. Hell knows there isn't really any other option for an art site, because I don't think I know of any of them even half as big that are worth anyone's time.
Consider this a really extended hiatus.
